Newmarket
and District use the TAVR range on Monday evenings from 19.30. If the Monday is
a Bank Holiday, we then shoot on the Thursday evening of that week. We shoot
.22 prone Rifle only, at 25yds.
We
enter both team and individual competitions in the Cambs and Suffolk Leagues, plus a couple of Individual
competitions organised by the West Kent Association. These competitions
also have Ladies, Junior and Pairs entries.
We have
this year (2007) run our own open postal competition, to try and raise
funds for the Club. This has been a great success, with entries from all
over the Country. The competition has several sections, Classes A to E
competition, plus Ladies, Juniors, Open Pairs and CDE
Pairs. We are thinking that we will run it again next year and may include a
veterans section.
The Club has been using the TAVR
range for some 60 years, has both male, female and
junior members. All are welcome to come along and see what we do. We have Qualifed Club Instructors and Coaches, so it is up to the
individual shooter as to how far they would like to go and level
achieved. Our members include Club shooters who are quite happy to come
along and shoot in a few competitions, to those who shoot for Cambs County teams and we even have a couple of
International shooters.
